Roisín Coyle - The Ag. Science Teacher
Roisín is the creator of the website www.theagscienceteacher.com and an Instagram page @theagscienceteacher, creating resources and information for teachers and students alike. She has been delivering online grinds for many years and has seen excellent feedback and results from the students participating.
Roisin is an excellent teacher with over 15 years of experience teaching Biology and Agricultural Science. She has a unique knack in breaking down the difficult scientific concepts associated with Ag Science to make it manageable for students, allowing them to access the highest grades possible. Her sessions are interactive with many quiz elements and sections to ensure students remain engaged throughout the lesson.

What will be
Covered in this Course
This course will focus on building exam skills, enabling students to deal with the tricky synoptic questions that are common place in the New Agricultural Science Specification.
On last years paper 50% of the questions were considered synoptic questions, questions that involve connecting knowledge across many topics.
Roisin is an experienced Ag Science teacher and SEC examiner and will be using the sessions to explain the best methods of tackling difficult questions.
22nd April
We will cover some of the main topic areas that have appeared on the exams over the past few years. You will refresh your knowledge of Dairy, Grassland and the Characteristics of soil as well as learning how to deal with difficult questions that may appear for these sections.
23rd April
We will be looking at the Specified Practical Activities (SPA's). You will receive a comprehensive booklet with sample questions to help you revise these activities as well as learning how to deal with difficult questions that may appear in relation to experiments on the paper. On last years paper 20% of the marks were awarded for experimental methods.
24th April
You should have your calculators to hand as you log on, as we will be looking at dealing with the calculations that you need to know as part of the curriculum as well as some other calculations that have appeared in recent years. Numeracy is a key component in the Agricultural Science Curriculum and an element of Numeracy will make up over 12% of the marks on the final exam.
