Richard Keogh - The Language Place
Richard has a degree in English and History from UCD. He worked as a secondary teacher in Co Kildare before moving to Spain for 11 years, where he taught English while learning Spanish.
As well as teaching in schools and companies, he worked as a Spanish-English translator. His best job ever was translating match reports from Spanish and Catalan into English for FC Barcelona!
He trained as a Spanish teacher and language school manager before returning to Ireland to take up a teaching job in Dublin City University Language Services.
He is a co-founder of The Language Place in Dundalk, where he has taught English and
Spanish to adults, teenagers and children since 2010.
He is an examiner of Spanish for the State Examinations Commission.
Richard makes sure his students are thoroughly prepared for all aspects of the Leaving Certificate exam with a strong focus on communicative competence in speaking and writing.
When he is not teaching, he likes watching football, reading, eating good food and hanging out with his daughters.
