John McCarthy
John studied Science Education at UL, qualifying as a teacher of Physics. He currently teaches in Limerick and has over 10 years of experience helping students achieve top marks in state exams. He has taught in some of Ireland’s leading grind schools and also at a top private school in Australia.
His teaching style places the student at the centre of the learning process, combining clear explanations with structured guidance to help learners reach their full potential.
His approach is practical, exam focused, and driven by a passion for education. Lessons are designed to build a clear and confident understanding of the syllabus. There is a strong emphasis on innovative, personalised exam strategies that suit a variety of learning styles and consistently deliver results.
As an advocate for online learning, John takes common misconceptions around Physics and turns them into opportunities for deeper understanding. A committed supporter of co-curricular learning, John has also mentored several students to success in the BT Young Scientist Competition.
