Meet Your Teacher
Shannon Ahern
Shannon has been teaching Maths to all levels and abilities in the heart of Dublin for the past 5 years, with 11 years of experience as a Maths tutor and 9 years of experience teaching in non-formal STEM education settings.
With a first-class Professional Master's in Education in Maths and Science, Shannon is dedicated to helping students discover their love for learning and mathematics, leading them to greater success.
Shannon's teaching philosophy revolves around the idea that Maths is a creative subject, more about asking questions than just finding answers. She engages students through discussions and real-world learning experiences, using virtual simulations and manipulatives. As a huge advocate of technology tools for supporting Maths teaching and learning, Shannon applies Maths to real-world scenarios to bring out students' innate understanding of the subject.
In addition to teaching students, Shannon runs an online teacher support network called 'Craic Matamatic,' where she provides educators with support to banish maths anxiety and bring the 'craic' back into the maths classroom. She is one of Ireland's leading voices in CPD courses on GenAI and maths education for teachers across Ireland.

What will be covered in this Course
This intensive 3-day course focuses on 3 core topics from OL Maths – Coordinate Geometry of the Line, Coordinate Geometry of the Circle, and Calculus – all of which are guaranteed topics and together comprise 25% of the Leaving Cert OL Maths paper.
Each day builds essential skills, from mastering formulas for midpoint, distance, and slope, to writing equations for lines and circles, to applying calculus for finding rates of change, maximum and minimum values, and tangents to curves. By highlighting connections and similarities between these topics, this course reduces study time of difficult topics and maximises understanding.
Live, interactive and exam-focused online course to help you achieve your best grade possible.
Recorded course: you will have access to the course recordings so you can replay them at your own pace, as often as you like.
High quality comprehensive notes.
